The communities feature lets you provide helpful information about the communities you represent, with descriptions, slideshows, recommended links, a directory of recommended local services, etc.
Create Community Categories and Landing Pages
- Go to the Communities Section: on your Admin home page (or the expandable "Tool Dock" click on the big icon that says "Communities".
- Create a Communities Landing Page: in the Admin Sidebar click the "Categories" link and on the Categories page above the list area click the big "Add" button to add a new record. On the Edit page enter a category name (this will be the page name e.g. "Communities"). Under the "Menu" tab on the Edit page, choose where you want this "Communities" page to show up in your menu, and give the link a name. When you are done, Click "Create". You now have a page on your site that will show all the communities you represent.
NOTE: Categories are like section home pages that display all the related records that are assigned to that category. In this case, a Community page shows all the communities assigned to that category.
Adding Neighborhoods
After you have created a Communities Landing Page (category), you will need to create individual community profiles. These communities will be promoted on the Communities page, organized in a nicely displayed list with thumbnails and basic information. Visitors can click the image or community name to go to a full details page.
- Add Community Profiles: in the Admin Sidebar click the "Communities" link and above that list area click the big "Add" button to create a new record.
- Choose the Category: choose the category/landing page that this community should show up on ("e.g. Communities")
- Fill Out the Requested Fields: fill out the rest of the requested information about one of your communities, e.g. Name, City, State, Zip (for mapping purposes), Community Description, Photos (for a slideshow), etc.
- Repeat this process if you have multiple communities.
NOTE: For advanced users, there are other tabs that enable you to upload videos, files for visitors to download, control the default Map view of the community, etc.
