- Open the Tags page
- Log into the dashboard.
- In the left-side menu, click Content.
- From the mini-menu that appears, select Tags.
- Edit an Existing Tag
- Locate the tag in the list and click the ✏️ (pencil) icon to rename it or update its description.
- Delete a Tag
- Hover over a tag and click the 🗑️ (trash) icon.
- Confirm to remove it from your system (all content using that tag will no longer be associated).
Creating New Tags
There are two simple ways:
- From the Tags Manager
- Go to Content → Tags.
- Click the orange + Add button in the top-right corner.
- Enter your tag name and (optionally) a description, then Save.
- On-the-Fly While Editing Content
- In any module, stream, or content editor, click into the Tags field.
- Type a new tag name—if it doesn’t exist yet, you’ll see an option to Create “YourTag”.
- Select it to add and save your content; the tag will be available everywhere after you refresh.
How Tags Work
- Dynamic Content Loading
- Tags let you pull specific items into Collection Streams or Collection Modules automatically.
- E.g., to display all “Blog” articles on a landing page, set your stream or module’s source to the Blog tag.
- Filtering Within Streams
- You can enable sidebar filters or tag-cloud filters on any stream.
- Visitors click a tag (like Technology) to narrow the stream to items carrying that tag.
Tags vs. Filters
While both tags and filters organize content, they serve slightly different purposes:
- Tags
- Metadata labels you assign to items (articles, properties, profiles).
- Drive dynamic loading and grouping of content.
- Filters
- UI controls (checkboxes, clouds, dropdowns) applied to a stream.
- Let visitors refine what they see by selecting one or more tags.
Pro Tip:
Keep your tag list lean—use broad, meaningful labels and avoid creating duplicates (e.g., “Blog” vs. “blog”). This makes dynamic streams and filters more intuitive for both editors and visitors.
