Choose Between Dynamic (Tag-Based) and Curated Content
- Curated: Manually pick each item and set its exact position.
- Best for small, static lists (≤25 items).
- Tag-Based (Dynamic): Automatically pull in all items with one or more tags.
- Ideal for growing collections or when you need sidebar filters.
Set Up a Tag-Based Stream
- Edit your Collection Stream and switch to the Content panel.
- Select “Tag-Based” as your source, then pick one or more tags.
- Under “Sort Order,” choose:
- Most Recent (default)
- Title (A–Z)
- Publish Date
- Internal Identifier (for custom ordering—see below)
(Optional) Create a Custom Sort Using “Internal Identifier”
If you need absolute control over the order of a dynamic, tag-based stream—especially when using sidebar filters—use the “Internal Identifier” field:
- Plan your ranges
- Assign a distinct numeric block to each tag (e.g., 100s for “Category A,” 200s for “Category B”).
- Edit each piece of content:
- Open the item, go to the Admin tab, and enter a number in Internal Identifier (e.g.,
101
,102
, …). - Tip: Prefix with a short description for clarity (e.g.,
101 – Team – Alice Johnson
).
- Open the item, go to the Admin tab, and enter a number in Internal Identifier (e.g.,
Back in your Collection Stream:
- Under the Advanced tab, set Sort Order → Internal Identifier.
Now items will display in ascending numeric order, grouped by your predefined ranges.
Quick Tips
- Switch to “Curated” if you only have a handful of items and want manual control without numbering.
- Use “Internal Identifier” only when you need both dynamic filtering and a precise custom order.
- Avoid overly long identifiers—keep labels concise so your editorial team can easily recognize each item.
With these steps, you can effortlessly tailor the order of any tag-based Collection Stream to fit your content strategy.
